LEGO Battles

The other day, Thomas set up one of his LEGO battles on my coffee table.  James and I started really looking at it and couldn't help but chuckle...how he places things...HA!

This was the Jedi/good side...

We especially loved the dudes using one of the TV remotes as their protection!

The bad guy side even had this deranged looking policeman that's not even part of a Star Wars set...

There was also one of the characters from the Iron Man movies to help out the bad guys!!

Flag Duty & Fun Run!!

In mid-January, after Belle completed her Safety Patrol duty around school, her teacher then chose her to be part of the 5th grade flag duty squad.  So every morning and afternoon the crew gets to put the flags up and take the flags down, weather permitting.  She loves doing this!!  I happened to be at school this past Friday morning and was able to snag a few shots.

Friday also happened to be our Spring Fundraiser, a Fun Run!!  I currently don't have a pic of T-man running since it's on the PTO camera but I snagged these of Belle on my camera.

Running hard with her friend Melissa.  Shelby did 18 laps and has raised $50.  Thomas did 19 laps and also raised $50!

My BFF's

During Spring Break, I was able to spend a day in Shreveport with my two best friends...we went out to eat and then spent a good part of the afternoon and evening over at Sonja's house before I had to drive back to moma and daddy's.  We had a blast!!! It was so good to see them, just wish it was more often.

Sonja and Erika...they actually went to high school together while I graduated from a different one but we all met at college. First, I met Sonja in Fall of 1989 at LA Tech. We quickly became friends and soon after room mates until she had to leave college. Erika is a year younger than us so I met her in Fall of 1990.  At almost 22 and 21 years, they are the two longest friendships I've ever had. =)

First Games of the Season

On Saturday, Shelby had her first softball games of the season!  Yes, a double-header!!
It was so much fun watching her, the team and cheering our girls on!!

The first game was a close one...it went back and forth but our HEAT came back and won 7-6! Shelby got a double and a triple in this game!  She scored and knocked in a couple of RBI's. She also fielded very well, getting several girls out at 1st base.

At bat again...our 2nd game was a blow out. We beat the Cheetahs 10-0!! Go HEAT!!!

This is Shelby's first hit, a solid single that ended up taking her all the way to 3rd base due to errors. She was so excited!!

This was Shelby's best hit of both games...this was a stand up double.  She hit it into the outfield over 3rd base!!!  I just kept the camera on her. =)

Our season is off to a great start at 2-0!!!

Next Saturday we play Game 3 at 1:30pm.

Spring Break 2011 - visiting Pop's grave

Last week, when I went to Shreveport, I visited the cemetary with my Grandma. She had just put out this new spring arrangement with daisies and roses.

The death date has now been added since I was there.  Half of it looks wet because Grandma was cleaning some dirt off of it. =)

It's looking really nice...such a nice resting place...with a big, shady tree right over it.

During our Spring Break visit, Grandma W. came to stay with us at Moma's for two nights!! We really enjoyed spending a lot of time with her.

Spring Break 2011 - Bird Photography

Here's a few of my favorite bird photography shots that I took up at my parents house this past week during Spring Break.  They have a ton of birds, especially blue birds, this time of year.  It was fun watching them and fun trying to capture something through the lens.  Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!! God makes beautiful creatures!! =)

Our first scheduled double header last weekend was rained out!  Now due to Spring Break, we do not have more games scheduled until March 26th! More pics of games, practices and scores will be coming.
