Shrek 4 at the Drive In!

We have had a really fun Saturday and pictures will be coming tomorrow but first, we had a great time last night at the Drive-In theater watching Shrek 4, The Final Chapter.

First, we ate dinner in the yummy snack shop. James and Thomas then hung out in the truck to watch the movie...

While Belle and I sat out in our chairs in front of the truck with our boom box. Here she is snacking on her cotton candy and waiting for dusk.

We were on the front screen this time which was a first for us. I think I like the back screen better but this one was good too. The forecast last night was clear and it was gorgeous. Funny thing was off to the south we could see lightning in the distance. We got worried a little bit but it never came near us and was beautiful to watch. The whole time when I looked up directly above our heads all I could see was stars. God is so cool. =)

As for the movie, it was very cute and funny! It was way better than the third one. Reminded us a lot more of the first one.

Texas Living Museum

Last night, the 4th graders gave a presentation called Texas Living Museum! Here's a few shots I took of Shelby right before we went to school last night. Side note: She had to dress up like this the last two days - on Wednesday for her teacher and dress rehearsal and then all day on Thursday they did it for all the other kids in school. Then last night was just for parents and family.


Shelby's Texas legend was Kay Bailey Hutchison:

We found a real fancy dressy business shirt with a skirt, brand new pumps, an updo for her hair, and lots of jewelry including pearls, ear rings, patriotic bracelet and a U.S. lapel pin on her collar.

Here she is at school in the hall in her spot. Little miss politician! =) Notice Thomas...he was sitting in a chair next to Belle where a kid hadn't shown up yet. Then a dad came by and thought it belonged to Thomas, like he was a 4th grader. It was funny!!

The kids all had circles drawn on their hands, like a button, and you had to push it in order for them to start their speech. Here's Belle giving her speech to someone! She said about "40" people pushed her hand...a little exaggeration there. =)

All of the 4th graders did a super job and worked real hard on this. Belle received a A+ on her presentation. Way to go baby girl!!! =)

My Mowers!!

I love watching my boy mow with his daddy...

This is one of those things that still makes him seem so little...he still needs Daddy's help pushing! But he hangs in there and does his best.

I also love the fact that he dresses up just like his daddy for mowing...cap, doo rag, sunglasses, mask, ear plugs and all. TOO CUTE!!! =)

Softball Trophy!

Shelby got the coolest softball trophy...she was a very happy softball player!!

The girl on the trophy has a ponytail hanging out the back just like Belle...and the little softball actually spins too!

Mmmmwwwaaaaaahhhhhh............

Proud girl...all that hard work and fun paid off!! I never saw her this happy or excited over gymnastics or ballet. HA! A close second would be horseback riding.

I'm pretty sure Shelby has found the sport she is passionate about, just like I was! It just tickles me...

She found the perfect spot for it on her new shelf! I'm sure it's the first of many softball trophies.

That's it for softball for now folks. We have had a blast!! Shelby and her team might play flag football this coming winter, we'll keep everyone posted. In the meantime, she will keep practicing throwing and pitching!! Otherwise, it's kind of nice to have a little break from all the games. In a few weeks we will be turning our focus toward tackle football. It's around the corner and a certain little guy is really getting excited about it. =)

HEAT - Last Games!

Monday night, Shelby ended her softball season with her team playing a double header.

In stead of taking a bunch more pics that you've probably seen a lot of already, I decided to post more clips of the action!!

In Game 1, this was Shelby's first hit against the Diamonds. Shelby also played left field in this game and she made one fabulous stop out there that I wish I had on film. When she stopped the ball, her coach turned to me and said, "Is there anything she can't do?" That was another proud moment.

This was Shelby's second bat of the first game. You won't see her hit here but I just thought the cheering was cute and I don't think I've ever posted this...

This was another Shelby hit and she knocked in our girl, Bailey, who was on third base! Even though the girls played GREAT, the Diamonds beat us 7-6!!!

In Game 2, Shelby got to pitch again. Here's a clip with a little coaching thrown in...she did a great job again. We ended up beating the Hawks 7-3!! Woo Hoo!!

Okay, so here's the breakdown on our fabulous first season of softball:

Shelby has learned to play 1st base, left field and pitching!

Shelby's running, hitting and throwing has improved dramatically.

Shelby was 9 for 14 at the plate! She got on base more times than most girls.

She made numerous outs at 1st base and offensively, scored numerous times and got several RBI's.

Shelby received 2 MVP Game Balls for Exceptional Performance during games!

Heat ended with a record of 6 wins, 3 loses and 1 tie.

Heat came in 2nd place in the league, behind the Diamonds!

Already can't wait for next season!!!! Way to go Belle!!! We love you!! =)

HEAT - Game 8

Yesterday evening, HEAT played their 8th game against the STARZ! Shelby warming up...

Giving her friend, Logan, a pep talk! Logan, our catcher, was real upset after the first inning. The other team scored 5 on us and Logan thought it was all her fault. Shelby made her feel better. =)

Shelby's pitching debut in a game!!!

She did great her first time! She told us later she was so nervous her arms were shaking. But she did it and sent a few balls right down the middle.

She also played not only her regular 1st base spot but she also played some in left field.

At the end with Coach Julie. HEAT wins the game 8-5. Shelby was the first one to get a hit in the game and first to score! Awesome!!

Tonight closes our season out with a double header...yes, a double header on a school night. Due to rainouts, that's how it had to end up. We have our first game at 6pm and the second one at 7:30pm! They play the Diamonds first and then the Hawks. The Diamonds are the toughest so it's good we play them first. I'll post results tomorrow!! Wish us luck!! =)
